Textor is constantly extending its manufacturing capabilities to
keep pace with demand and extend the range of our technologies.
Materials
We work with
the full range of materials suitable for non-woven textiles including:
- Fibres such
as polyester, viscose rayon, polypropylene and cotton, or those
with special applications such as low melt and high wicking.
- Chemical
binders that are safe but offer strong adhesive properties.
- Coatings
such as low density polyethylene, or non-adhesive and laminate
films.
These materials
are combined, recombined and layered to achieve the result our customers
desire.
Processes
Production of
non-woven fabrics involves web-forming of the actual fabric, and
additional treatment such coating, laminating and composite layering
of two or more fabrics for specific purposes.
Textor offers
high speed carding facilities capable of producing fabrics that
are:
- Chemically
bonded for filtration, interlinings, x-ray gowns and pre-injection
swabs;
- Thermally
bonded for acquisition layers and food contact approved packaging;
and
- Needle-punched
for a wide range of felt products.
Our air-laid
line produces chemically bonded fabrics ideal for first aid dressings,
food filtration and embroidery fabric.
Textor's sophisticated
thermal bonded needling facility creates multi-layered fabrics such
as printable felts, wipe fabrics, and active packaging using fabrics
from our chemically bonded random and parallel-laid lines. We are
currently producing highly complex composites consisting of five
layers or more. We can also apply pigment to colour any of our carded
and air-laid chemically bonded products.
Web formed fabrics
can be scatter coated with low density polyethylene or powder coatings
to confer specific properties such as super absorbency or adhesion
for interlinings, heat sealable fabrics, protective scrims and under-hood
liners.
A 1.4 metre
wide laminator can apply adhesive films with specific properties
to any web formed fabric.
Capabilities
Our plant, accredited
to ISO9001 standard, is equipped to run 24/7 to meet requirements
ranging from small runs of 1000 square metres to those of 100,000
square metres and beyond on a delivery in full on time performance
standard of 98%.
Roll lengths
of between 100 and 4000 metres can be produced on our carded and
air-laid production lines with a maximum finished width capability
of 2.2 metres and 1.5 metres respectively. All production lines
can obtain minimum finished widths of 20 cm, and our conversion
equipment can trim and roll to any requirement. All rolls are 100%
visually inspected during conversion and are packaged appropriately
to protect the finished fabric.
Before conversion
is approved, output is sampled for production and audit testing
to ensure it meets agreed technical specifications such as weight,
thickness, strength, washability, and absorbency.
