Stopping the rot with our pioneering anti-algal felt

A problem long besetting the nursery and horticultural industry is the rapid growth of algae and bacteria in humid enclosed environments like greenhouses. Traditional overhead sprinkler and hand watering systems promote algal growths harmful to plants, yet are controlled using potentially harmful chemical sprays. Cleaning and removing algae from products for sale is a time-consuming necessity in many nurseries.

In response to a clear industry need, Textor has pioneered two unique anti-algal fabrics destined to save nurseries considerable time and money. The fabrics contain an anti-algal compound that is bound within the fibres and cannot be released into the environment. Anti-algal capillary matting eliminates the need for sprinkler systems and prevents growths that block and ruin traditional forms of matting. Our multi-purpose anti-algal sheets can be used as coverings, in walkways, as a lining for pots, or wherever protection is needed against algal or bacterial growths.

Both products were submitted to Victoria's leading horticultural institution for independent testing and are being delivered to an increasingly appreciative market.
